What the site measures without you leaving anything
This site runs its own counter. It sets no cookie, keeps no IP address and sends nothing to another party. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to refuse.
To count how many different people come by, the counter builds an encrypted marker from your IP address, your browser and the name of the site, together with a number that changes every day. That marker cannot be traced back to you. The number for that day is thrown away the following night, together with the raw lines. After that only daily counts remain, without any marker.
What gets counted
- which page you open and in which language;
- how far you scroll, at four points, and how long you stay active;
- which kind of button you click, and whether you click a mail address;
- whether you move on to the other site Rico runs;
- in the diagnosis: how far you get, up to and including the tick box.
The advertising gate on this site is switched off. No pixel from Meta, LinkedIn or anyone else is loaded.
What you leave behind yourself
There are two places where you fill something in. Both only if you want to.
The diagnosis
At the end of the test you can leave your e-mail address to receive the report. What is kept then: your address, the code of your measurement, your eight scores, the language, and how far you had come. If you also tick the box underneath, the literal text of that box is kept as well, plus the moment you ticked it. Without that tick, your address may only be used to send you that one report.
The answers you give during the test sit in the storage of your own browser, so you can stop and continue later. Those answers do not reach the site. You can remove them by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
The white paper
If you leave your address for the white paper, what is kept is: your address, the language, the moment, and which page you came from. That last one so it is clear which page brings people to the document.
Every mail carries a link to unsubscribe. One click and no further mail goes to you. Your address stays on the list with the date of unsubscribing next to it, because otherwise there is no way to show that you unsubscribed. If you want your address gone entirely, send a message to rico@the-performancecoach.com.
Who else sees it
Two parties, both because the site would not work otherwise.
- Netlify
- Carries the site and keeps what you fill in on the two forms.
- Resend
- Sends the mail with your report and the mail with the white paper. That party sees your address and the contents of that mail.
Nobody else. There is no advertising network on this site, no chat window from a third party and no script looking over your shoulder.
There is a processing agreement with both. Netlify carries theirs inside their own terms, Resend has theirs pre-signed and it takes effect when the account is created. It sets out what they may do with your data, and that is only what I instruct them to do.
Both parties are established in the United States, so your data leaves the European Union. That happens on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which both take part in, with the European Commission standard contractual clauses as a fallback. Mail me if you want to see those documents.
How long it stays
- The raw lines from the counter: until the following night. After that only daily numbers, with nobody in them.
- Your e-mail address: until you ask for it to go. A mail saying no, or saying remove me, is enough.
- The diagnosis answers on your own device: until you clear them.
What you can ask for
You may ask what is kept about you, have it corrected, have it removed, object to its use, and ask for it in a file. That goes through rico@the-performancecoach.com. An answer follows within a month.
If you disagree with how that goes, you can complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. The company itself is established in Spain, where it is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
If this page changes
Then the date at the top changes with it. Nothing is used differently with retroactive effect from what was written at the moment you left your address.
